The mission of the Center for Science and Tecnology at NTU is to integrate the researches conducted by the professors of the university. It was created to be a center for conducting Nano science & technology studies, thereby realizing the research university supporting by the Ministry of Education.

In addition, the center also sees to the reintegration of teaching courses and integration of equipment for the effective execution of teaching and research pursuits. The open common core lab of the facility is run under a fair usage principle. The dynamic constructive mechanism further spread the benefits of exchang integration and resource sharing.

The center knew that for the future of the university and the development of domestic Nano science & technology, it should plan and implement high-performance Nano science & technology integrated teaching plan and studies to allow the cultivation of the right professionals for the field. This is also the primary mission and purpose of the CNST. The program has seen to the consolidation of the colleges of sciences, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and electrical & computer engineering with the condensed matter science and the biotechnology center.

The CNST course curriculum we now offer includes subjects in basic sciences, applied engineering and biotechnology. The center also aims to establish a found action for Nano science & technology undergradeate and postgraduate studies to optimize the university's efforts in cultivating a human resource base for this field of study.

The CNST mainly handles academic studies covering a wide range of fields and applications; however, the center classifies all research subjects under three main fields of studies - basic sciences, applied engineering and biotechnology. Principal field of research include Nano materials, Nano device, Nano electronics, Nanobiology, and teaching integration.

In conclusion, the center is a soft center possessing the following missions:

  1. Integration and upgrade of all NTU studies conducted in the field of Nano science & technology and construction of a core lab for integrated studies.

  2. Promotion of the inter-university and cross-disciplinary studies in Nano science & technology.

  3. Cultivation of a Nano science & technology research human resource here and abroad.
